Dr. Jan Nylund

I hold a PhD in physical chemistry (colloid and surface chemistry) from Åbo Akademi University in Turku, Finland. After finishing the exam, I attained a position as R&D manager and QA manager at a leading techno-chemical company in Finland for almost 10 years. The work comprised R&D of cleaning agents and biocides for industry, institutions and households, and contacts with suppliers and customers. I assisted sales and marketing in client visits and got very good knowledge about the needs, requirements and rules that govern everyday life in industry.

The last 20 years I have been acting as an entrepreneur, at first helping clients with formulations and other R&D tasks and as the regulatory landscape evolved increasingly chemical safety issues, registrations, classification, and labeling. REACH and biocide projects nowadays take up a large part of my time, mainly registrations of substances under REACH and biocide products under BPR. Active substance authorization, requirements, and the vast amount of work involved became clear in a registration project under the BPD.

At Chementors I’m responsible for client projects, especially biocide projects. I mentor and assist our team of experts in assignments connected to REACH, CLP and food contact materials.

Outside work I stay fit and relax with gym training, sports shooting and different activities with family and my little dog.
