Millidyne Oy – Innovator of coatings

Millidyne Oy is an innovative, Finnish technology company that develops and markets functional coatings for demanding industrial applications.

Established in 1997, Millidyne was founded based on the material technology innovation developed by Tampere University of Technology to manufacture and market new types of functional coatings. Thanks to this, Millidyne represents the forefront of coating companies with its industry-leading products.

A large part of Millidyne’s operations is based on the development of customer-based coatings.

This is also how Millidyne’s widely applicable coating brand, Avalon®, was developed, for example, for process industry equipment and components, property maintenance, and construction industry products.

Among other products, Millidyne also develops and manufactures additives for thermal spraying to combat, for example, wear and corrosion in various industrial applications.

Millidyne’s extensive customer base includes, for example, the paper and construction industry and the military aviation industry for various coating solutions.

Coatings and chemical safety

Companies that manufacture chemical products, such as industrial coatings, must comply with several regulations, depending on what kind of chemicals their products contain. For example, the products must have compliant and up-to-date safety data sheets (SDS) that have to be correctly distributed to the product’s users and handlers within the supply chain.

However, creating safety data sheets requires special expertise and appropriate software. If needed, the preparation of safety data sheets (SDS) can be outsourced to an expert company, such as Chementors.

Chementors handles all SDS needs

Chementors prepares, translates and updates safety data sheets and acts as the Finnish representative of Chemeter, a software application specialized in the preparation of safety data sheets.

Chementors has assisted Millidyne in translating safety data sheets in accordance with the local language and legislation of different countries. We also act as Millidyne’s software supplier for the SDS authoring software Chemeter, which we supply for Finnish and Vietnamese clients.
